The more that I have looked at the material that has been put together for this
show the more I find I have been drawn to the photographs that present a
different perspective. The abstract approach in "Curves" and "Ink" has a great
deal of appeal to me currently. As does moving away from standard images and
exploring areas that are rarely seen.
An example of this can be seen in this photograph. I had a number of days in
which there was little or no wind, which left me with a perfectly calm water
surface to work with. I took a number of different photographs on a number of
days working with plant life similar to that seen here. The soft horizon lines
on the water I was seeing intrigued me, and I want to continue to work with
images of this variety.
With that in mind if you see me on a ten foot tall ladder hovering over a lake
and photographing water don=t be terribly surprised. What I haven=t figured out
yet is how to attach my tripod. Maybe I=ll have to develop a huge tripod with
steps I can walk up. Have it dropped in by a crane. Or better yet just hire a
crane and hang over the lake.
