Sometimes you just know that you've got a good shot. Sometimes it all comes together. This was one of those times. When I hit the rewind button on my camera I knew that the pictures I had were going to be what I wanted. Lots of haze in the air and the way the setting sun refracted off it produced this gold color that I knew had worked. I wasn't sure what would black itself out but that=s where the anticipation and joy of seeing the slides for the first time comes in.

In any photograph all you can do is record the essence of what is in front of you. I do not use colored filters, what exists in reality is what I photograph. I=m not manipulating what exists in nature, and I have no desire to do so. It is the beauty that exists all around us that I want to present.
