From the day I saw the negatives of "Arctic Red Morning" I knew I wanted to continue to work with the same location. I wanted to expand upon what I had done in the prior photograph by filling in the foreground. I had no idea that the color would translate itself so wonderfully into the snow, it=s all of those purple shades blending with the blues that make this photograph work for me.

"Goosh Goosh Point", named for the sound my shoes make when I go to this particular place to photograph, has become one of my magic spots.

I tend to completely irrationally associate the success I've had in a photograph with a physical location and not the understanding that all of the elements came together between my mood, the light, the subject, proper exposure, and knowing where the sun is going to crest the horizon. Oh well it seems to work anyhow.
